Inside Mecca – The Hajj Pilgrimage

This National Geographic documentary of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and sheds light on the universal principles of Islam during the days of the Hajj. The film follows three non-Arab Muslim pilgrims from Asia, Africa and the U.S. while presenting the historical significance of the city and events. The Hajj is the epic journey of a lifetime for Muslims and the personal stories of the pilgrims give glimpses into the mental preparation, physical/emotional strain and spiritual ecstasy they encounter on their life-altering pilgrimage of faith.

    When I was growing up in Malaysia, I heard snippets of the Haji Pilgrimage but never really understood it. Now I have learnt so much from watching this. Quite an incredible look inside Mecca, I must say.

    Yes, I used to work with a Moroccan friend that talked about Hajj but I did not fully know what was involved until I watched this.
