Banned From the Bible

Banned from the Bible tells stories of ancient books that have been prohibited from becoming part of Bible canon. The story started in 150 AD when Christianity became the most favored religion. Suddenly, there’s a demand for a universal bible. Church elders began collecting hundreds of manuscripts about Jesus floating out there at the time. Then they edited what was to be included and what was to be banned from the bible.

I think it’s important to remember that it is men who put together the Bible (or Quran or any religious scriptures for that matter) based on their own interpretations and motivation at that time. What has been filtered through, really, at the end of the day, is up to us to judge how relevant it is in the context of the modern world.

Thanks Chaun, that’s well put… It is frustrating to see people take the Bible, Quran and other religious text so literally to condemn others…
